Message	bar and socket on the crank pulley bolt to rotate the crank, back & forth slightly, while I fought the tranny itself and my Son helped push on the tranny, from behind (tranny was mounted on a floor jack so we could raise it to exactly the right height) with the floor jack. I also put in some long bolts to pull the tranny into the engine once I was sure the splines were aligned. I only used the bolts in the positions where there are steel mounting bracket/holes (not in spots with only the aluminum casting).
